Cooking Up A Batch Of Organization!
The Declutter Challenge continues! Last week I made a goal that I would find 15 more items this week to declutter. Did I meet my goal?
I hit my goal this week. Fate took over one morning. I opened a cabinet where I keep my cookbooks and one fell out and hit me in the arm. Needless to say, I was sort of annoyed and decided I had too many cookbooks packed into that space. So I started sorting....
The result was that an hour later I had 15 cookbooks set aside for donation. This is roughly half of my cookbook collection, so I am pretty proud of my progress there.
And here is a tip that I find really handy when it comes to sorting recipes: Often we save a cookbook when, in actuality, there is only one or two recipes in it that we like. Instead of saving the whole book, either photocopy the favorite recipes or rip them out and then give away the book. A couple pieces of paper take up a lot less space than an entire book, and this way other people can enjoy the book, too.
I'm feeling really sick today with a nasty cold that just doesn't want to go away. Therefore, I am not setting a decluttering goal for myself for next week. What gets done, gets done... but I am not going to push myself.
I am striving to hit my goal of Decluttering 366 items from my home this year. This week 15 items left my home and were donated to a local thrift shop. So far this year, I have decluttered 211 items.
How about you? If you have a recent declutter update on your blog, please leave comment with a link to it. Please also include a link back to the challenge in your post. If you don't have a blog, I still encourage you to leave a comment with your progress. Remember, we are all in this together!
