2012 SMART Goals!
But not this year. Nope... This year I vow to create goals for myself that are achievable. After all, goals should be SMART - specific, achievable, measurable, relevant, and timed.
And thus, I announce my 2012 goals:
1.) Complete my Declutter Challenge! I will never be a minimalist, but I do see the benefits of clearing some excess clutter from my life. Therefore, I am challenging myself to get rid of (at least) 366 items of clutter during 2012. Want to join me in this challenge?
2.) Put $17,500 into my new car fund in 2012. This amount sounds HUGE, but keep in mind that I intend to put any money I earn from the sale of my cousin's car into this fund, so that will put a big dent in my goal.
3.) Earn $6,000 in side hustle money this year. This averages out to $500 a month. This should be achievable. This money can come from blogging, teaching, freelance writing and designing, working as a "turker" at Amazon Mechanical Turks, selling crafts on eBay, and any other clever ideas I come up with to earn some extra money.
4.) Clean out my personal email box. Seriously, folks, this almost embarrassing to admit, but as I type this I have 20,450 emails sitting in my mailbox. I have a very bad habit of not deleting anything! By year's end I want to have this number down to a manageable 450. The rest (20K!) will either be filed or deleted.
5.) Get an average of five servings of fruits and veggies a day. Some weeks I am really good about this. Other weeks I am not. I want to be healthy, and so it is time I step up my game in this regard and focus more on getting the right balance of food in my life. This one may be a little tougher to track, but I will do my best. And by succeeding, I will be creating a healthy habit!
I'll update my progress on these goals at the end of each month.
What goals have you made for 2012? Have you written a blog post about them? If so, please post a link in the comments and I will check it out!
